Guiliani on Abortions

VOTERS CARE MORE ABOUT SECURITY STANCE THAN ABORTION VIEWS, SAYS GIULIANI: Republican for president Rudy Giuliani is betting S.C. primary voters are more interested in his national security credentials than his moderate views on abortion. The former New York City mayor was in South Carolina Thursday, a day after he announced on national television he supports limited federal funding for abortion, a concept that is anathema to many Republican voters. Giuliani, who is leading the 2008 GOP pack in most national polls and is second in South Carolina surveys, told The State he realizes his views on abortion will be an issue here. "On social issues, there are some differences, but the differences aren't as great as some of the people who oppose me exaggerated," he said before heading to the State House, where he picked up the endorsement of State Treasurer Thomas Ravenel and two influential Republican activists. The State: Giuliani downplays abortion issue in S.C.

Hardcore conservative are being RIDICULOUS with this one issue bullshit. Abortion no matter WHAT they want will NEVER EVER EVER be changed by a sitting president. Only way that will change is with Supreme Court appointments. And even then it will be hotly contended issue for that next appointment because the next appointment could tip the scales one way or the other.

And I personally don't give a crap about a mans relationships. I didn't care about Clinton getting head (only Hilary should), and I sure as hell never cared about Giuliani's marriages. If you do care about those sorts of things you need to reexamine your core beliefs on if you want to vote on 1 issue only. One issue only voters are a damn shame to this great democracy of ours.

I vote on men and women based on principle. Not based on one single issue. I look at the whole package. Weigh the positives and the negatives. There are things that I do not agree with Giuliani on. But the reality is that he IS the best conservative candidate out there.

I DO NOT trust Romney at all. He also has flipped on issue multiple times. He was Governor of Massachusetts and has done some HORRIBLE things with that state. Just ask fellow Bostonians, Such as our own YR Its STILL the most taxed state in the nation. Had those major issues internally with the big dig and still is VERY liberal. He was voted in by appeasing to the liberals in the state.

I know that is what politics was all about. Appeasing to people. But I want someone that is real. Not someone that waivers on their positions to score political points and somehow gain the trust of the people through false prophecy. At least with Giuliani what you see is what you get. And his positions are the same today as they were yesterday or when he was mayor. He believes in fiscal conservatism (something DESPERATELY lacking today), believes in security, believes in tough sentences on criminal, believes is less government.

Romney has flipped simply for appeasement. Examples:

-Now firmly pro-life, despite 2002 tolerance for abortion. (Dec 2006)
-Opposes Roe v Wade, but won't tamper with abortion laws. (Dec 2006)
(that is an oxymoron, there are no abortion laws)
-Vetoed emergency contraception for rape victims. (Jul 2005)
(that is insanity!)
-Endorsed legalization of RU-486. (Mar 2002)
(like I said he waivers back and forth, RU-486 is an abortion pill)

On Gay marriage
-Opposed gay marriage but played fair and upheld law. (Apr 2006)
(you want fairness let them have civil unions)

Is it too early to be talking about this? I sure as hell think so. There is still more than a year and a half before the presidential elections. I am sure more on both candidates will come out. I just hope conservatives stop looking at 1 damn issue to decide who they vote for.
