A step in the right direction...

House votes to ban aid to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives voted on Friday to
prohibit any aid to Saudi Arabia as lawmakers accused the close ally of
religious intolerance and bankrolling terrorist organizations.
The
prohibition, reflecting persistent tensions with the kingdom after the September
11 attacks on the United States in 2001, was attached to a foreign aid funding
bill for next year that has not yet been debated by the Senate.

MM says, "Wow!"

No kidding there! And I second that! U.S and Saudi relationship, to me, has always been... wierd.
I had known military buddies saying they hated it there. Not a fun place to be, very strict and rigid rules; another day, another blog on that one. We had a few bases there essential for missions during the Gulf War.
Me thinks (hee hee) ,after 9-11 in which the majority of the hijackers were Saudi citizens, our relationship really went sour. Frankly, I could care frackin' (eh hem BSG fans) 2 pennies of Saudi Arabia, espcially after saving there asses in the first Gulf War and the thanks we get afterwards. The main reason we remain friends, and I use that term loosely, is becuase of oil! No doubt there folks. But, Suadi's govt., the royal twits, who or whatever's lack of involvement in bringing peace to region is what pisses me off! Name it: Iran, Isreal/Palestinian, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq; where are they in negotiating peace!?! Nowhere!
Saudi religious fanaticism is the main reason why I think they should go fuck themselves in the first place. Whahabiism is intolerant and the most hateful forms of Islam. Yet U.S. and Saudi remained allies and was getting taxpayer financial aid for years now? Fuck That!! All that fukkin oil revenue and they need aid from us! No way Abdul!

Surprisingly is this Democrat Party controlled congress vote to ban aid to Saudi!
Is it congress finally getting the point, with the lowest approval gallup poll ratings EVER of 24%, that the majority of Americans are fed up with the war (and I am by FAR not anti-war!) and the way it has been lead. Americans have been screaming about the other Islamic states in the region being accountable for the lack of control there. Hopefully the senate will follow the House's lead on this ban of aid to Saudi Arabia also.
